What is Cash for Appliances?
Cash for Appliances is a program designed to encourage consumers to purchase energy efficient appliances.
Who is eligible?
The program is open to every U.S. state and territory.
Do I have to trade-in my appliance?
Unlike the Cash for Clunkers program, you do not have to trade-in your appliance(s). However, the state is offering an additional $75, on top of the rebate, for consumers for each recycled appliance
What appliances are eligible for the Cash for Appliances?
Six residential appliances qualify for the Cash for Appliances program.
- Washing machines
- Refrigerators
- Freezers
- Dishwashers
- Room air conditioners
- Gas tankless water heaters
When does the Cash for Appliances program start?
You must purchase qualifying appliances from April 16-25, 2010
How much is the rebate?
Consumers will receive $50-$200 off the purchase price of a new appliance with the Energy Star seal.
